The incorporation of the town of Parker in 1981 included the Rowley Downs subdivision, the downtown area, Parker Square and Parker Plaza commercial areas. The incorporated area encompassed approximately one square mile and included 285 residents. Soon after incorporation in 1981, the town adopted zoning and subdivision ordinances.

There are a myriad of activities and countless ways for residents of Parker to get involved. Citizen involvement is encouraged, in both the activities of the community and in the workings of the town government.

Parker's Chamber of Commerce sponsors many local events including Parker Country Festival and the Parker Christmas Carriage Parade. Parker is a vibrant growing community that prides itself on offering a wide range of recreational and community activities to its citizens. The Cultural Commission offers a variety of community events and the Town boasts an award-winning Recreation Center.
